So here we are, my first blog post ever. I will warn you now, I'm a Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist. I am not a Journalist or English Teacher, so bare with me!!
I wanted to start off by sharing with you the fun photo shoot that we did with Michelle, from MMG Photography ( http://www.mmgphotographystudio.com for our first ever "Sin Pretty Beauty Look Book 2017". My entire idea behind this was, to showcase hair and makeup looks that we, as artists, were inspired to recreate and the looks want to suggest to our Bridal Parties this 2017 season. Don't get me wrong, we don't always have full creative freedom. Most of our Bridal Parties sit in our chairs and pull up Pinterest almost immediately. While, I do appreciate the initiative to find your own styles and ideas, I do love a girl who sits right down and immediately has full trust in whatever we want to do. The looks that we created this year, are the pictures that we pull up to show our Brides/Bridesmaids what WE like for the season.
The Looks of the Season:
*Hair: We had a team meeting before deciding which direction to go with this shoot. We all agreed that we are loving the bohemian/romantic hair styles. We are LOVING hair left out, down around the face. I'm not talking two tight curls (one on each side, framing your face) like in the 90's. A lot of half up looks are mostly hair left down with some pieces pulled back. While, full updos are leaving a good amount of hair out around the face and even down around the nape of the hair. We are also still seeing and feeling a lot of the full-down do's
(insert numi curling wand for days ---------> http://numeusa.com/classic-wand
*Makeup: Most of you (who've had your makeup done by me) know I love me a warm shadow palette. As soon as Jaclyn Hill came out with the 350 morphe palette, I was all over it. However this year, I'm really feeling the peaches and pinks. Ok, yes, that's still a little warm (I'm sure Carissa, lead MUA, will get a good laugh). I'm also into the more neautral tones, even greys. While, I still mainly suggest matte colors for photos (as the shimmer doesn't photograph as well), I'm back into the shimmer inner corner. I blame, Mario (makeupbymario) for this and most of the looks that I'm insprired by. I can't help it, I LOVE HIM and I LOVE Pretty Makeup. If you want to get an idea of my style, follow (on Insta): makeupbymario, patrickta, & makeupbyariel. All men, I know. I can't help it, they're all fantastic!!!!
Thanks for reading! There will be more posts to come!!
